Beberapa hari yang lalu temen gue ajak gue untuk ikutan Genographic Project, salah satu proyek National Geographic yang pesertanya ribuan orang dari seluruh dunia.

Jadi kita register (dan bayar tentunya) dan nanti mereka kirimin kit (alat) ke kita, supaya kita bisa ambil sendiri sedikit jaringan di dalam mulut kita (bagian dalam pipi), trus sampelnya kita kirim ke mereka.

Dari situ nanti mereka bakal kasih hasil sampelnya. Temen gue -bule- cerita kalo di salah satu laporannya mengenai DNA dia, ternyata dia masih related sama Genghis Khan. "Hahaha, keren juga nih project," gue pikir.

Sebenarnya sih dari yang gue baca sekilas, ini project pengen dapet gambaran lebih jelas lagi bagaimana manusia ribuan tahun yang lalu menyebar ke berbagai belahan dunia.

Kalo gue gak berubah pikiran, gue bakal ikutan juga. Iseng2 pengen liat migrasi nenek moyang gue, kapan dan di mana. Sukur2 masih sodaraan sama Genghis Khan (atau at least, Gajah Mada ).

Iyah gue juga tertarik sama prosesnya. Btw, baca ini deh ternyata ini cara simpelnya untuk tau kita dari mana based on DNA:

CMIIW, jadi kayanya ada grup2 sub-DNA. Jadi meskipun elu chinese tapi gak tertutup kemungkinan kalo dalam DNA elu itu "B2" (B2 dibilang di situ populasinya di Sahara / Afrika). Ada link lanjutan di situ:

Anyway, dari yang gue liat, sebenarnya tujuan pertama mereka sih untuk neliti DNA orang2 yang indigenous (orang2 asli / natives, pedalaman gitu) kaya orang2 aborigin atau suku Dayak / Badui. Tapi karena mereka juga pengen orang2 tau dan terlibat -sekaligus butuh dana- akhirnya mereka buka kesempatan untuk orang2 lain untuk ikutan juga, tapi kudu bayar (that gave me an idea, gimana kalo gue ngaku kalo gue asalnya dari suku roti tawar yang udah lama ilang dari Indonesia? )

Kalo soal semua sodaraan, yah emang bener. Tapi kan peradaban manusia udah bener2 complicated banget. Kalo dibilang "dulu tinggal di taman Eden" yah ngapain juga repot2 bayar

Gue juga pengen tau ada gak orang2 Indo (yang pribumi especially) ikutan ini program. Soalnya sampe sekarang gue skeptis kalo orang2 Indonesia itu -kata buku2 sejarah Indo- asalnya dari Mongol. Semoga ada yang orang Indo dari luar forum ini baca ini thread dan mau join ke sini dan kasih penjelasan soal geneology orang2 Indonesia.
