LONDON - Anil Ambani sebelumnya santer dikabarkan akan membeli salah satu klub Premier League, yaitu Newcastle United dan Everton. Kali ini, konglomerat asal India tersebut kembali membuat sensasi dengan mengajukan tawaran untuk membeli West Ham United.

Premier Legaue telah menjadi ladang empuk bagi para pebisnis kelas kakap untuk menginvestasikan modalnya. Setelah nama-nama seperti Roman Abramovich, Malcolm Glazer dan Sulaiman Al-Fahim, kini miyuner asal India Anil Ambani siap terjun dalam industri olahraga lapangan hijau.

Seperti dilaporkan The Mirror, Senin (6/10/2008), pengusaha yang melambung lewat jaring media BIG itu sepertinya sangat tertarik untuk menginvestasikan modalnya di klub berjuluk The Hammers itu.

Pihak West Ham sendiri sepertinya telah mematok harga 150 juta poundsterling bagi Ambani, jika ia benar-benar ingin menjadi pemilik sah atas klub yang bermarkas di Upton Park tersebut.

biasanya sich klub2 kaya' gitu terganjal oleh faktor2 finansial.....

tapi, belum stengah musim bro....

Liga Inggris boleh saja menganggap diri sebagai liga terpopuler di muka bumi. Namun, International Football Association Board tak melihat Liga Inggris cukup mumpuni. IFAB melarang Premier League menjajal terknologi garis gawang bahkan untuk uji coba sekalipun...
Tahun silam, Premier League menjadikan Reading sebagai kelinci percobaan untuk menjajal hawk-eye goal line technology. Laga yang dijadikan uji coba memang hanya partai antarakademi, tapi EPL ingin memperlihatkan keseriusan memakai teknologi.
General Manager Referees Association, Keith Hackett, menilai teknologi tersebut sukses diterapkan. Tidak mengherankan bila Hackett terkejut dengan keputusan IFAB tersebut.
